The maker of this dvd comments that the UK has more kit cars than all the world put together! Said to be over 5000 cars at this show (from Stoneleigh 2005, i've no idea if that's the correct spelling?) As you can imagine, i've done quite a few captures.! (a few hundred on the dvd which will need sorting out) At the start of the dvd we get info on the makes & some model names, as the show progresses we start to get less info and by the end just get a mixed bunch of cars, many without any info! (even cars we are shown a few of, with similar looking bodywork, can be completely different underneath, No two cars the exactly same.!) I'll fill in as much info i've made notes on and then let all our experts sort out the rest. Good luck! No cars test driven (so No three-star vehicles), for cars we are shown around in detail i've rated two-star and for cars just shown from one angle/or just briefly i've listed as one-star. -- Last edit: 2008-12-02 14:35:29 |

We're now up to 14 New makes & more to follow (closing in on 2000 makes on the site) -- Last edit: 2008-12-03 09:59:03 |

Steve, what criteria have you used for dating? ... bearing in mind that kitcars often carry the registration of the donor car if it's easily identifiable. AFAIK Q-registrations are only issued if there were several donor cars or the donor's reg. is no longer valid. |

A bit of both really! from whatever info is available. What would you suggest? What we really need is club and owners information. -- Last edit: 2008-12-04 10:25:45 |

I wish you hadn't asked me that ... I think I'd have been tempted, in the absence of club/owners' info, to leave the date out except where the manufacturer (Westfield is the obvious example) has obviously registered cars as new - presumably because they've bought engines etc. in. |

Will we ever find the types for, for example the Marlin's? Or can we call them just 'Marlin' or 'Dunsmore' ? |

This is a great page. I quite like coming back to it to see some of the interesting kit cars. The sad thing is that you really very rarely get kit cars in film and TV so it is documentaries like this that provide them. |
