I suppose, with this title the song cannot be officially distributed in the USA. |

They did Ce Lo Green's song "Fuck You" here in America. Don't see why this one would have any problem. |

Not because of the *beep*-word? A propos: actually I'm preparing travelling tipps for a colleague, who will have her first USA-trip soon (mainly N.Y.and FL). As essential differences I told her as first: - never be topless at beaches and pools - no alcohol in the public - be aware of violent and splatter-movies daytimes at the TV - all these annoying *beeps* in TV and radio sucks - it's cheaper to eat in restaurants and takeaways, than to buy food in the supermarket and eat in the hotel - be thoughtful with tips for waitresses - cheese and dairy productes are more expensive, in lower quality and less choice - you have to be alert to find bearable bread and beer Now I'm assembling the specific tipps for sightseeing and shopping. |

Only on the movie channels. - all these annoying *beeps* in TV and radio sucks[/quote] Matter of who and what you watch at what time and what place. And if I got your question right, they made a "clean" version (replaced "Fuck you" with "Forget you") along with the original version (norm for music these days). |

A good example is: /movie.php?id=1004514061 where 'fuck me' is replaced with 'have me' and 'sweaty bollocks' is replaced with 'Sandra Bullocks' in the censored version. |

With "censored version" you mean the US-version? The Beautiful South was a British band. Or does the *beep*-idiocy appears also in the UK? |

@rtsbusman1997: well, I was really bewildered, when at our Florida-trip one year ago, the complete series /movie_1520211-The-Walking-Dead.html was aired - in the sunday-afternoon-programme In Germany it was aired some months later, but censored and after 23:00 in the night. I was even more bewildered, when a Californian lady, I've talked with in the motel-pool (as my wife wanted to watch it and me not, I stayed in the pool) said "Oh, all kids love that series. My 12-year-old daughter watches it now and my 10-year-old son, too, at home in California, together with his nanny." |

^ The pilot by Scorcese was excellent but by series 2 it's a soap opera, and it is indeed aimed at teenage boys. The 10-year-old will have nightmares tho. -- Last edit: 2013-04-07 02:11:14 |

Its common for everybody to watch it. I watch it, my mother, some of my friends. It only airs on AMC for now (at least here in America.) Everybody watches it |

One of not really rare topics about the "clash of cultures" Europe vs.USA :P There are several more. Everytime I think about the travelling tipps for my colleague, I remember more. |

P.S. Let me guess: but you aren't allowed to drink a beer while watching them? I just read in a traveler's guide for Washington D.C., that it's even illegal there, to let people under 21 drink alcoholic beverages in your own house |

In general, that's universally the law in the US but I guess unless you do it in front of a cop, its hard to enforce that law. |

Ingo, back in the 90s many Russian kids liked this series http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0096540/ I was really impressed by scene of execution, for example... And there was brief appearance of Jaguar Mk.X |
◊ 2013-03-26 20:54 |
@Nightrider: this was aired here, too. But of course execution scenes and so on were all cutted out. In the USA nothing of those violent scenes is cutted - but on the other hand they have cutted out the funniest scene of /movie.php?id=120828 - just the "bad finger", Anne Heche is showing. Ridicoulous -- Last edit: 2013-03-26 20:55:13 |
