Pretty sure the street-level photography predates 1959, more like 1953. I have watched enough Japanese movies from the 1950s to know it looked nothing like this in 1959. It's probably a case where leftover footage is spliced with new footage of the 707 and contemporarily clad American travellers. |

I fully agree. In 1959 all these Japanese cars were scrapped or at best sold as cheap second-hand cars and were hardly seen in circulation. Instead Toyopet Crowns, Datsun 210s were flooding the roads. One of the countries with the lowest car life expectancy at that time. |
