Of course, footage are older than 1960 which corresponds to the presence of an Air France Boeing 707. -- Last edit: 2024-03-10 11:49:30 |

This film, part of the series “Flying Holidays” by Air France, takes viewers on a tour of touristic opportunities throughout Mexico: Mexico City, Merida, Patzcuaro, Acapulco,... It also shows views of New York, where travelers could have a stop-over on the way. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=B0mRZv82ePg&t=135s Background vehicules: Boats: Tramway: Night lights: |

Another case of recycled footage I presume - no cars newer than 1955 and much like in Japan, NYC cars and especially taxicabs had short life cycles while the cars seen here are brand new. The large DeSoto cabs were pretty much gone by 1958. The movie theatre seen here features The Teahouse of the August Moon (1956) so the Mexican footage is slightly newer than that of New York. This theatre bills The Tall Men (1955) with Clark Gable so the NY footage is probably from late 1955. |
