My favourite era for the US car industry is the late-'50s, when car designers went wild with styling. Fins, chrome, two- and sometime three-tone paint jobs! Every car was very distinctive and certain cars (such as the 1959 Buicks) are so extravagantly styled it's a little hard to believe cars actually used to look like that. They look very alien compared to cars today and that just makes them stand out even more.

Kinda wish cars would go back to that instead of crossovers and SUVs that are little more than boring badge swaps of each other :o
