Year is 1991, not 1992. Produced 1991 and released November 1992: http://www.kino-teatr.ru/kino/movie/sov/2855/annot/ |

IMDb and IMCDb usually go with the release dates rather than when they finished production. Otherwise, more than half of the movies on here would all have to be adjusted by one or several years. |

Indeed, for instance, Singin' in the Rain is listed as a 1952 movie as it was released that year, but in the opening credits it says MCMLI (1951). |

But for Soviet movies, it is always done this way. /movie.php?id=100465 was produced in 1990, and hit cinemas in January 1991. Somewhere there was also a comment by Weasel elaborating on the subject. (after I suggested we used the IMDb year) |

Is this movie Soviet, though? As it was released in 1992 I mean. |

Well, as it was produced in 1991 you could say yes, but otherwise there's the 1992 release date. This was actually done for a few years after the collapse of the USSR - it stopped around 1998 or 1999. The latest I know is this /movie_184392-Deti-ponedelnika.html which was released in January 1998. In the late Stalin to Chrushtschov era, films were also produced the same year and then released a few months later in the same year. /movie_313967-Devushka-dzhigit.html was produced in 1955 and released June 29, 1955 in theaters. |
