dsl ◊ 2022-08-30 19:29	Originally broadcast as 4 episodes, but when re-shown on BBC4 in 2022, it became 2 merged eps. My ep numbers and timings are as 1993 version. Strange series which has dated badly now but was a must-see when originally shown - based on a novel (which I haven't read) and it feels like something trapped in book form instead of cutting loose to work properly onscreen. Set in London 1973 or thereabouts until 1979, with a lot of period cars used from 60s onwards; several keep popping up in different eps as recurring backgrounds. A brief New York insert in ep 4 looked genuine for location shots, although not sure if the street scenes involving posted cars were dressed-up London. Rejects: Ep 1 - Very blurry Wolseley 1300; Zephyr Mk4 Deluxe; corner of roof (Mini?? R4??) - Sceptre Mk2, maybe E plate, with glimpse of front in car park Ep 2 - Capri II on display on "Heathrow" stand; blurry 70s (Super?) Imp Ep 3/4 - white Triumph 2.5Pi Mk2 in the same street as the Merc coupe There's also a dark blue 2000 Mk2 with sunflower hubcaps in a couple of scenes, but I've lost them Ep 4 - Morris Minor van; US limo interior in New York sequence
