![]() Nick Broomfield stalks the ex-Prime Minister as she goes on an international book tour, trying desperately to get an interview with her and also trying to dig up some dirt on the recent stories of her son Mark's dodgy arms deals. But he is thwarted at every turn by Lady Thatcher's staff and the US Secret Service. A taxi Nick uses to follow Thatcher's Lincoln through the streets of Manhattan. Broomfield's two films about prostitute serial killer Aileen Wuornos are excellent http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0103634/ & http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0364930/ but this is a pathetic effort, I of course was on Thatcher's side the whole time. |

At one point he says they'd invested too much time and effort to give up, even though they're getting nowhere. The most revealing thing about this documentary is how a few friends and acquaintances describe Maggie's relationship with her son, they make it sound almost Oedipal. I'll watch the Aileen Wournos ones as well, and the ones on Eugene Terre'blanche. I've seen the Heidi Fleiss one, but car-wise it's not worth adding. -- Last edit: 2013-07-25 22:30:46 |
