Let us hope its going to be as good as the first one and not as bad as the second one... |

It doesnt show anything actually exciting, hmm, let us hope it doesnt happen to it like what it happen to the Taxi series, every new one is worse than its predecesor. |

The official site http://transporter3film.com/ I'm thinking that the A8 will get 5 stars as the preceding one... Oh yes! ![]() |

This movie looks good. |

Yeah, the first movie was mindlessly entertaining and moved quickly, but the second one was flat out AWFUL, with terrible CGI and the least convincing female assassin in cinematic history. This one at least looks like it could be amusing at least. |

I'm not sure what to expect honestly, i've recently seen new trailers and apparently the cheap looking CGI is there again ![]() |
◊ 2008-11-17 17:13 |
I just watched the trailer. I see some nasty and cheap looking CGI towards the end, with a preposterous looking jump with the car between two train carriages. However, fortunately I don't see anything that looks nearly as bad as the detaching bomb scene in Transpoter 2. Still, I don't hold high hopes and the female lead doesn't look very attractive, to say the least! |

What do you expect? |

I've just seen it (I didn't pay for it, don't tell anyone), I wasn't sure what to make of it. The best part is that he has to keep his car near him at all times because of a detonator on his wrist. So when he fights the bad guys on a train, he has to bring his car with him. It's frantic like Crank but I liked Crank a lot better. I did learn one thing. If I drive my car into the water (and there's 10 men on a bridge shooting at me AND I can't leave my car because I'll explode) I can take the cap off one of my tires and breathe the air from it, for long enough so the bad guys think I'm dead. It's a good thing to know ![]() I really did prefer the BMW to the Audi. I love how Frank Martin is listening to opera in the first transporter, and we get to see his house and garage. Nothing can beat the original. |

How are the car chase scenes? |
◊ 2008-12-02 13:27 |
You don't mention the car chases, how were they? |
◊ 2008-12-02 23:45 |
Between the Audi and the Mercedes. That's all. |
◊ 2008-12-02 23:48 |
And how was it? ![]() |

Considering how this was the third intallment, the chase was not bad, but not good enough. The show stopper for the chase was supposed to be when Jason blances his Audi on two wheels and drives between two moving semis. It doesn't lead up to the previous two. It's like the coordinators were trying to kill two birds with one stone for the audience instead of remaining terra firm. After a while of repeated scenes on the highway, the chase movies into the dirt kicking woodlands. THIS scene should have been the former. After nearly getting an arm torn off, the bad men in the Mercedes are pushed by Jason off a cliff to where the car explodes, just for the purpose of further demonstrating Jason's broad driving (like we've haven't seen enough in six years?). |

I saw this on Saturday evening. While not great, it's definitely an improvement on the awful Transporter 2 and does manage to stay consistently entertaining and moves quickly enough. The chase scene with the Mercedes is well shot and entertaining, and there's a goofy but creative and fun scene where a bad guy steals the Audi, and he takes a BMX bicycle and has to catch up with the car, cutting through warehouses and along narrow city streets, grinding on railings and jumping across factory tables. It's preposterous as hell but still entertaining, unlike the awful CGI car flipping action in the previous film. The female lead was a strange choice, to say the least. She's apparently Ukrainian, but doesn't look like any Ukrainian girls I saw when I visited there last summer. She's pasty white, very freckled and red haired, with an overabundance of nasty black eyeliner. Definitely an acquired taste lookswise, but I didn't think she was very attractive. She has zero acting experience prior to this, and was apparently literally picked off the street randomly. Again, very strange move to make, especially for a fairly mainstream film. She is fairly amusing in the film thougg, and has a dumb hyperactive bimbo-ish charm to her. However, it's one of those characters who others might be extremely irritated by, so I'll give this movie a cautionary recommendation. |

Agree that i like it more than the second one, yet the sped up camera in most of the action sequences was quite annoying, and i didn't like the Mercedes-Benz chase as much, shame that the chase in France wasn't a bit longer and with more destruction. |
◊ 2008-12-17 02:07 |
Yeah, i agree for the most part. It's got the god-awful sped up camera, quick cuts, and shaky cam that Bourne made famous and irritates me to no end. But i'm not sure if it's better then the second one though. Despite the ridiculous laws of physics that one had, I think I enjoyed the action in that one better. In fact I couldn't say I really enjoyed the action scenes in this one at all. The fights were short and not very entertaining, the chase scene was pretty terrible in my humble opinion, and the shooting scene shouldn't even had existed since it's only about 5 seconds long. Then there's all of the little stupid things like the little redhead talking about food, and telling Frank to kiss him before she gets handed off in the corniest way possible. |

Well, thankfully this one doesn't have an anorexic female "assassin" in utterly stupid clothes. That's the worst character I've seen in an action film in recent years, and the least convincing assassin in cinematic history. So not having a character like that puts it above the second installment in principle for me ![]() This one has CGI also, but it's short and not the centre of attention in the action scenes. Not to mention that the CGI looks significantly better than the last one, thankfully. The plot was more entertaining and the pacing was more consistant, plus the European locations were a good deal more interesting than the flat Miami locations in Transporter 2. Bottom line is, I think the Transporter 2 must be one of the worst movies I've ever seen. The first film was mildly entertaining and moved quickly. This one, while not great, is at least an enormous improvement over #2 in basically every respect. |

In a car-related TV show they said that the only fake thing was the car jumping on the train: they filmed the jump on a green background. |

![]() I'm so looking forward to seeing that movie |

The IMDB only lists Ukraine as a filming location, but some scenes are obviously set and filmed in France. I also suspect that all the car chase scenes were shot in France, because there are vehicles with fake Ukrainian, German and Romanian number plates all with the same French font, and the Ukrainian police Samaras have French lightbars. -- Last edit: 2008-12-17 21:40:26 |

That was also tried in Mythbusters and A View To Kill. It's very difficult / impossible. |

Can you explain why that wouldn't work? Not enough air is released or something? |

I think the font is OCR B. Usually fake road signs in films are just done in Arial or Helvetica or whatever. ![]() |

![]() A Bundesstraße (federal road) 304 really exists, alsoin the area, which is meant to be, but the rest is fake as fake can. And it's Salzburg, not Salsburg. And a 600 km-distace is not usual on German federal-road-signs. |

Well it the last one because the franchise is going to TV series. Jason Straham is moving on he never going to reprise his role Frank Martin for the TV series. He was greAt. ![]() -- Last edit: 2013-05-04 05:55:00 |

I like the film but for the fact that they are dubbing sometimes a V8 soundtrack over a W12 I don't like. I wish they would have just stuck to the one A8 with the W12 engine that Jason Statham was driving. Also earlier in the film he had busted his driver's side door glass suddenly the chase scene after the stop at the petrol station he suddenly has glass in his front driver's side window. -- Last edit: 2020-07-02 18:52:04 |
