 IMDB info is correct but for the number of episodes. I worked with 12 ep. version. Kino-teatr.ru also indicates 12 ep.: https://www.kino-teatr.ru/kino/movie/ros/11307/annot/. The final episode is a representation of the same battle at the 12th outpost of the Moscow border detachment in Tajikistan on 13/07/1993 which was the basis for a feature film /movie_1805479-Tikhaya-zastava.html

 No filming locations found, but almost certainly Tajikistan (though the setting of the Tajik-Afghan border would have been far too dangerous in 2007) and is the Hyundai in Russia?

Searching through the comments suggests that it was filmed in Uzbekistan, but the palace (narcobaron residence) was filmed in Kazakhstan where it was built by Hollywood filmmakers for Nomad: The Warrior (2005).
