I just tried to look him up on IMDB and found a dozen Francisco Francos.

Just out of curiosity:
In most continental europe the date is completed with 1st. day, 2nd, month and later year.
Well, Spanish Civil War began in:.......................18 07 1936
And finished in:.................................................01 04 1939
If we add up dates make...................................19 11 1975
Franco died (with a 3-Ton marble gravestone over him)in 20 11 1975, but most people say he died on 19 november. The Goverment did not say he died until it took the control of the situation between that, some hours went by and then it was 20 of november. Gremlins...Final Destination..?

So I was wondering ... at the very end of the film ... did Ewan McGregor’s character really go through the wall, or
was he high on LSD (not Limited-Slip Differential :p ) and he just believed he went through?

Sorry Neptune, I didn't see your answer til now. Well I think the last scene can be seen in two ways: literally, Ewan McGregor gets some psychic abilities from his journey with George Clooney but I see this like a 'parable'. After his 'journey to the madness' (and all wars, even the just ones, have points of madness) he reachs a point of 'spiritual satisfaction', he is over the world problems, he cans 'go through'...everything

I don't think he actually went through the wall, or took LSD :p It's just one of those flights of fantasy moments a lot of films have, not meant to be taken literally. Like Vilero said it just illustrates how he's been on a journey which changed him and all that.

There is no proper evidence psychic abilities exist, I think this film is a comedy somewhat based on true events that deals with one of those subjects that most people are sceptical about, yet could be quite curious if you delved into it, like all those people who believe aliens have visited Earth.
