Inevitably bleak (and I can't see how they could make a second series ...), but some laugh-out-loud Scottish black humour, excellent acting and script, and the result is very powerful and deserves its 10/10 reviews on imdb. Filmed on Ayrshire coast (mainly Troon), Glasgow, Manchester (possibly) and final 10 minutes in Zurich. Set in present day and flashbacks to 1986, most of which is modern recreation but some 1980s archive footage also thrown in; some of this has rapid-fire glimpses of interesting stuff in it, but you have to be alert to spot them. Rejects: - blue Japanese thing - Carina?? - in recreated 1986 segment - modern moments: M77 approaching Glasgow from Ayrshire, Glasgow street

Filmed on Ayrshire coast (mainly Troon), Glasgow, Manchester (possibly) and final 10 minutes in Zurich.
