3 episode series set 1947-63 covering the marriage and eventual notorious divorce of the Duke and Duchess of Argyll. Not to be confused with A Very English Scandal (2018), an unrelated mini-series covering the Jeremy Thorpe scandal in 1970s, although it was produced and written by the same team. Set in London and Inveraray Castle (the real home of the Argylls) with an interesting list of locations here. Some goofs with the cars within the range of film dates - the Daimler is the worst as a 1955 car used in scenes going back to 1947, and several others pop up. Some grumblings on Pistonheads here. Reject from closing credits - the real Argylls in April 1952 with a Landie registered Sx 796(?)5. Posh boat for jfs Apparently it's a Chris Craft, because it says so on the side (presumably an on-set photo) and because allegedly Rivas were all LHD - no Lada jokes please. -- Last edit: 2022-01-06 00:31:24 |

The Dr No title sequence rip off seems like a odd choice but it's set in the 60s so i see why they went for it |

Boats with engines as their main method of propulsion are of no interest. If under 20ft long it must have sails only, bigger boats are allowed an engine for manoeuvring into marinas. |
