I've noticed something about the Chinese car industry - before the release of the Shuanghuan CEO, there were no copied cars: cars were original, properly licensed or produced via joint-venture. |

There are quite a few cases of Chinese manufacturers reverse-engineering foreign models (in terms of body structure and chassis engineering, etc, not only styling). For instance, the Chery QQ is a copy of the Daewoo Matiz (the doors can be swapped, proving the bodyshell was copied exactly), and the Lifan 520 was based, without permission, on the Citroen ZX. The Toyota Hiace has been copied by several different manufacturers, and there are dozens of pickups with copied Hilux or Isuzu bodies. -- Last edit: 2016-05-17 23:20:15 |
