Watched episode 1, seems a nice series... More to come... |

When is the story set? With the only non-COMECON vehicle being a classic Mustang, it's not obvious. |

The Barkas is worth to mention. It's one of the surviving original prisoner-transporters. |

You needed connections to get a blue one. Even a Saab 900 there. |

The Saab is for sure a Western visitor. Until now I haven't heard anything about just a single Saab running in the DDR before The Wall felt down. I've asked the Western-car-in-the-DDR-specialist for that and he asked his friends, too - nothing at all. @Andre: only the Dacia Sadan was available in the DDR, never the Break. And always only in the poverty-spec trim line wit the smallest engine. A time ago in one classic car magazine there was a pic of a hearse, around 1977 selfmade by a small private coachbuilder around Dresden on basis of a Dacia 1300. |

Aaah what a pitty, I watched 6 episodes, never seen a Western thing, only GDR-stuff, but in episode 5, they made a mistake.... |
