![]() ![]() Another CFF children's adventure, set in London and more convincing than many of these films, with good direction which actually makes it thrilling instead of fluffy. And some real atmosphere of what backstreet London was like at the time and what homes were like. Taken from ![]() Children's Film Foundation Bumper Box 2 dvd set. Plot is a doctor's Humber Hawk is stolen by two Ne'er-do-wells - one of whom is Alf Garnett ![]() - in a dramatic opening chase. They hide the car in a derelict garage, which is also used by kids as their Gang HQ. The key element is the doctor's bag which contains some boiled sweets and some poisonous strychnine pills (not sure quite why, but there you go) - these get mixed up, the kids find them, and the rest is a fairly predictable roll-out. No tragic moments, and no compulsory CFF family dog -must have been a supply shortage. Reject - big Healey at the start ![]() There were also several Heralds, some Minxes, Minors and a few LT buses, but never quite captureable. Radios for imWirelessdb ![]() ![]() ![]() |
