 I don't remember which comic it was or who drew it, but in some comic outside of Spirou there also appeared the "Marsupilamis africanus".

I only recall it had a dog or kangaroo like appearance and was described as irrational, aggressive and capricious. :D

 Ah, it was created for Blondin and Cirage, which Jije (Spirou artist 1946-48) drew after Franquin resumed drawing the strip in the late 1940s.
In addition, the African marsupilami is apparently a very clumsy animal lacking the 9 meter tail of its South American counterpart:

I'd heard of this comic before, now I wonder if it was ever published here...
