![]() ![]() 17 minute straightforward remake of original Night Mail film, now based on a journey from Euston to Aberdeen. Taken from the 2007 BFI re-issue of Night Mail on DVD ![]() ... but not on other reissues such as those by GPO/BBC. Can be seen at https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fylS9u_njNQ . The way the film is presented suggests there was a Spotlight series of topics, but no mention on imdb page. Rejects in opening London scenes ![]() ![]() ![]() Van; taxi; Henlys van. If same Henlys they did coachbuilt Bentleys, had a spectacular 1930s showroom ![]() ![]() (from /movie_2365114-Roadways.html ) and were a big Jag dealer much later. Engines: lots of continuity goofs at Euston as they get the loco ready and hook it up to depart. Starts off as this one (which might be 46210 ![]() then becomes 6207 ![]() ![]() then 46210 (again) ![]() ![]() then flips and becomes 46106 ![]() ![]() Then at Crewe (10-50) becomes 6234 Duchess of Abercorn (a village in West Lothian but a Dukedom created in Ireland). ![]() ![]() I know they had to change engines a few times on this run so not necessarily a full goof, until the flipping trickery starts again with 46211 ![]() after which I gave up trying to keep .. um .... track. |
