Filmed in Czechoslovakia, but few scenes was filmed in Rio de Janeiro. This movie has classic ploy, like in soviet films - all cars are western or non-Czech (without few barely visible), which should suggest the viewer, that action is happening in western country (or in future). |

The Rio shots appear to be stock footage from the early 1960s, since the youngest identified car is a 1960 model. |

I've found some more Soviet/Russian films with fake Western settings. Bratya Riko (1982) - fake America Link to "www.youtube.com" On svoe poluchit (1992) - fake Britain Link to "www.youtube.com" Pretedent (1987) - fake America Link to "www.youtube.com" Ingo will love this - it's a Soviet-Czechoslovakian co-production filmed partly in Munich, which as everyone knows looks exactly like a generic American city. |
