16-minute road safety film about bad driving habits taken from the COI Collection Volume Four: Stop! Look! Listen! 2-DVD set. Weird film by same director as Sewing Machine and has similar tragic ending - in each case the same white Cortina Mk2 GT VYY 770G is the killer car. Starts with a bizarrely apocalyptic monologue from Frank "Grandstand" Bough standing on a bridge and preaching that we all develop a form of psychotic madness whenever we get into our cars. Film then becomes an "insight" into the mind of a bloke driving his Ventora estate, with the journey seen through his "eyes" with his "brain" depicted as a Star-Trekky command centre with computer screens, control panels with multi-coloured buttons, flashing lights etc. Three actors in white lab coats play the Brain, Memory and Ego, and discuss all his driving decisions and issue commands ("Brain to right foot - prepare to accelerate" etc) as he goes. - imSheepskinCoatdb A bit of a desert for Rootes-jewels - a Super Minx on the motorway in rear mirror, a couple of Avenger glimpses, and this dark green 1968+ Super Imp at 05-20 Scimitar GTE at 05-29 Purple Escort 1300E at 05-40 -- Last edit: 2015-08-01 02:09:52 |
