Filmed in Gastown, Vancouver? The scenery smells very much like that. |

Yes, it's Vancouver: http://www.imdb.com/title/tt2165641/locations We have tax incentives for film production too, but I suppose that it was still cheaper even with the extra time and expense of trying to make Vancouver look like London... |

I suppose the number of extras driving LHD vehicles should've been a dead giveaway: /vehicle_548160.html But from what I've read, England has sent more than their share of AEC buses, and other vehicles native to the UK to commonwealth nations such as Canada: /vehicle_548161-Volvo-240-245-1986.html |

It's rather used stuff, later imported by private persons. There is a small market for used classic typical UK-stuff. In Germany there's for example a private importer and restorator for the classic red phone boxes. |

The really odd thing is that this is a spin-off from a Nickelodeon series and the plot sounds like it's just an excuse to send the characters to an exciting foreign location...but they ended up faking it in Vancouver, so it all seems a bit pointless. http://www.dvdverdict.com/reviews/bigtimemovierags.php |

Usually, that's the way it is in the USA. But I read that Canada got a few AEC Rangers and other models brand new in the 1920's and 1930's. I recommend the book "Highway Buses of the 20th Century," by William A. Luke and Linda L. Metler for this subject. -- Last edit: 2012-11-11 15:16:42 |
