![]() Frustrating film, presented as a documentary (but fake) about a bloke from Louisiana whose stolen Lincoln is recovered in Detroit, so he goes to collect it and then tries to track down the thief ("Bill") across America, so it becomes a road movie. But the plot dribbles away somewhere in the middle of the film and it just becomes a series of sequences of random people in random places doing sad or futile things in their wasted lives. All of which is very poignant and sincere, but incoherent without any obvious purpose. That said, it is a haunting portrait of America's "underclass" and these folk are apparently real people telling their own stories. And it could have - with better construction - become a superb film. Worth finding and watching, despite its flaws. Excellent soundtrack/link music by Jonas Munk (aka Manual), who like the director is Danish. Irritating camera work - pretending to be amateur hand-held filming so lots of blurred/shaky shots instead of proper photography for captures. Huge amount of background 1 ![]() Reject - Detroit cab ![]() ![]() -- Last edit: 2017-10-10 00:17:41 |
