Not exactly thrill-a-minute stuff, but interesting in its way for a logistics and operations task which was undertaken seriously within LT activities. They don't spell it out, but there's an implication that this might have provided the only opportunity for their staff to get a proper meal every day during 1950s austerity/shortages.
