![]() ![]() "Play for Today" (Season 8, Episode 16) broadcast on 7 February 1978, but filmed before April 1977 if a tax disc on the Bedford coach is accurate - may even have been Summer 76 if the sunny scenes were as hot as they look. Recently released as a stand-alone DVD. "A coachload of Scouse kids terrorise North Wales for the day". I remember this from when I was a kid - very good comedy drama with strong themes, some very funny bits among the pathos. A bit dated and predictable now, but still powerful. Lots of backgrounds, particularly sequences on coach as it drives through Liverpool. Millions of usual 1970s stuff - Victors, Cortinas, Hunters, Avengers, Marinas, Minis, ADO16 etc seen through the windows. Some reject highlights in order they're seen: 1] Reliant Robin tricycle (not sure why the Bedford coach is parked there - wrong place. Maybe also used as crew wagon??) ![]() ![]() 2] street (Viva HC, 1100 Mk2, Peugeot 204(?)); narrow milk float ![]() ![]() 3] Fiat 900T van; Riley Elf ![]() ![]() 4] fire engine,; Alfa 2000 Spider ![]() ![]() 5] Moskvitch 1500 Van [434] ![]() ![]() 6] Mk1 Transit with very low flat rear bed - for milk crates?? ![]() |
