That's what I thought too. |

With those 1956 Fords - the model name is Fairlane - the body style is the added extras eg Club Victoria or Crown Victoria! They are not model names. Does this mean we now have to add Sedan, Coupe, Convertible, Town Car, Vista etc to the model name?? There are quite a few thousand that will require changing. -- Last edit: 2011-01-23 23:00:49 |

^I was aiming for consistency with other similar cars already listed on the site. It doesn't make sense to have all but one listed with Victoria in the model name. In my opinion, the Crown Victoria at least warrants the distinction from base Fairlanes because it is such a unique bodystyle. |

The only thing unique about the Crown Victoria is the strip of chrome over the roof. Ford were very inconsistent in the naming of models in this era. From 1951 to 1955 the Crestline and later Fairlane two door hardtop was just called a Victoria, but from 1956 through to at least 1960 it was called a Club Victoria and the Fairlane four door hardtop was a Town Victoria. Whatever - they are all body names, not model names. |

On the site usually the rule was to keep the name in model name if it is linked to a separate body style |
