 First film produced in Mongolia, at the time a largely unrecognized satellite state of the USSR. Because of this, it was billed as a Soviet film when released in the US in 1938 and that's only what the internet knows it as. Produced by Mongolfilm under the supervision of Lenfilm with lots of Soviet help.
