Indeed Bette Davis is exceptionnal in this role. But as it is explained in the trailer, she was at her top of her actress career at this time, and had won already best actress oscar (Dangerous 1936, Jezebel 1938), while 1939 was an exceptionnal year for Hollywood , with tremendous success films as "Gone With The Wind", "The Wizrd Of Oz", etc... so that challenge was hard for "Dark Victory" though its good success... then she was "politically" remoted from a new consecration. |

Hey? ...But let think! Didn't he played perferctly the role was paid for?? ...worst right-hand conservatories and economical ultra-liberalism values overspread to America and through the rest of the world relayed firstly by Mrs Thatcher in UK, ....until now with Brussel commission, Merkel, Berlusconi, and all thoses Sarkozies puppets, playing exactly the same role nowadays ![]() |
