About the movie name: I tried to enter the Russian and Ukrainian names, but there is apparently a problem with the Cyrillic characters in the text field of the corresponding form. A mano: Скоростъ: Автобус 657 (Russia) Швидкiстъ: Автобус 657 (Ukraine) |

People keep trying to use special characters, but unicode isn't handled at all in the current version of the site, titles should only use west-european characters (like IMDb does). Same for vehicle names, with a few exceptions handled specially (like Żuk or Škoda, as you may notice they display with the accent but when edited the accent isn't there). |

I first copy-pasted the "Cyrillic" movie names from the IMDb, and their HTML source says charset="utf-8" while using directly these characters: they appear to handle it, now ![]() In fact, the first letters are Ok when put in the concerned field in the IMCBb and they are apparently automatically converted in HTML codes: htmlentities or htmlspecialchars power? But the database field must be a limited one (75 characters?) so it can't store more than 10 converted letters, leaving just for what should follow. Increasing the field capacity would apparently be a temporary way to handle these "exotic characters". If needed. Well, these titles are for now in HTML codes in my comment, so the information is here. Let's wait for NextGen ![]() -- Last edit: 2015-11-23 03:10:08 |

I mean as main movie title. Indeed they added other character sets in their translated titles, I forgot that ![]() The current IMCDb database is in latin-1, so all what is not in that charset (what I called "west-european") is converted to HTML entities, hence why I recommend not using that. Next version is in utf-8, that solves such problems. |
