OK, since I had this poorest copy, I took only a few of the vehicles strolling across the Paramount sutdio lot, makeshift for New York streets. It's a Jack Hively's mellow noir, based on a story by Cornell Woolrich (the real name of William Irish), and played by Burgess Meredith, Claire Trevor, Louise Platt… but the best are the villains, Frieda Inescort and Jerome Cowan, and the almost psychopathic copper, Sheldon Leonard (what a presence!). Really, not a very good film, but it has some good moments. A bulb in the pseudo-night of Paramount Studios for rjluna2: -- Last edit: 2015-08-28 09:06:07 |
