I agree, Gershwin's music is perfect in 'Manhattan'. The soundtrack usually adds a lot in Woody Allen movies. Before that he tried no music (Annie Hall has zero) which was only because Ingmar Bergman never used music. 'Rhapsody in Blue' is played completely here. The biography part is not so reliable... the Joan Leslie role is a complete fabrication. |
