@timo: Don't post the title screen if you're not going to add anything. |

Thanks! Hope you're not too busy with all these requests though. |

It's no problem. I like requests like this as it's not a movie I plan to see (I don't care much for football or football "fans" brutalizing each other), so I probably wouldn't have come across it if you didn't mention it. P.S.: I changed the title to match what's on IMDb. This is a UK/US co-production and IMDb doesn't list "Hooligans" as a title in either of these countries. It lists "Green Street" as the original/UK/world-wide title and "Green Street Hooligans" as a US/'aka' title. |

The only reason I've heard of this movie: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=IfhMILe8C84#t=6m2s |

Upgraded to 16:9 open matte HD which made this movie a real pleasure to work on. I added a bunch of mostly small stuff I usually put in comments, but I went for it this time as the plates are legible and it seems there's not a fake one in sight. Still, if anything is too small or uninteresting, feel free to delete or move to comments, and I'll know better next time. Here's the obligatory bonus stuff: and a special triple-header bonus for plate hounds: H487 BEW (blue van), HX53 HKU (ambulance) and R591 BGV (Rover). Speaking of plate hounds, which is the most reliable plate check site for UK plates? -- Last edit: 2024-11-12 18:37:48 (walter) |

Woof, woof. There's no single magic bullet site. If a car's still alive, they're mostly much the same, with maybe https://checkhistory.uk being the most detailed. If it's recently deceased, the problems start if DVLA have deleted the record, so this affects the other sites which feed directly off DVLA data with varying results. DVLA MOT site - https://www.check-mot.service.gov.uk - can hang on to records for longer than the main DVLA site. My usual first stop is https://www.autocheck.co.uk which hangs on to dead records for a fair time, but eventually loses them. However it's useful for confirming a dead plate was genuine. To dig further back, https://www.autotrader.co.uk is good but eventually loses records. Then I try car insurance sites - picking 2 which let you enter the plate before wanting your details - https://www.theaa.com/car-insurance/ and https://www.sainsburysbank.co.uk/car-insurance/get-a-quote . When I've exhausted all those I tend to give up ... Sometimes - probably quite often, and depending on my mood - the plate info I post blends details from different sites into a mash-up to capture as much as possible. As said, this is my recipe and works for me most of the time. Other folk have different strategies which may be just as effective. |

Thanks, dsl. I juggle multiple sites myself (three for this movie), but I never know which one, if any, to quote. I'm no vehicular expert and I'm regularly confused when mods enter data that doesn't match plate sites (I'm aware plate info can be inaccurate, but I have no way of knowing that, so...). I usually start with checkhistory.uk myself because it's so detailed, but for this movie it didn't return most of the plates, so I looked at a couple of sites "promoted" by Alex_DJ like instantcarcheck.co.uk which returned just about everything. I'll keep yours in mind, too. |
