The idea behind this movie is cool. Vampires figure out that in Alaska there are periods in the year where the sun is absent/covered up for a month. So they will have more time they ever dreamed of to find fresh blood. Thus the townsfolk have to deal with this horrible situation. -- Last edit: 2008-02-07 02:30:04 |

The same goes for Wilmington, NC and the state of North Carolina in general. North Carolina offers insane film incentives to entice film companies to make their movies here. Also Wilmington, North Carolina is home to the largest high-end full service film studio this side of California. In addition, Universal Studios has expressed interest in buying land here. What is not clear is, if they want to build a major theme park, like Universal Studios Hollywood or just a series of film studio facilities. |

The idea was cool the only problem was the execution. It sounds scary, but in the end it isn't nearly as scary is it should have been. However, I have to admit, that they were able to make the first half-hour or so tense, the only problem though is that when the vampires attack, most of the deaths in the movie happen in a couple of minutes, and the rest of the movie gets kinda boring. |

@jettalover, maybe a coincidence or not. The movie Pitch Black which was made before this has a plot where the main characters crash land on a planet full of creatures that attack during the night. Then there is a long eclipse which blocks out the sunlight and doesn't stop the creatures anymore. |
