Pics replaced with a not terribly good looking HD, but better than before. I replaced some of the main pics with what I thought were better views, and I also added four more vehicles. |

^ well hope it wasn't so bad , during the 00s there were quite a few car themed movies in Germany and all mediocre but this is one is the most watchable out of the lot the best german car movie is hands down Manta, Manta (1991) https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=eJuw973oxE4 -- Last edit: 2024-10-03 22:23:28 |

It nuked the fridge with the scene with the Opel Corsa's driver's teeth. There was NO way it could recover from that. ![]() But anyway, I can't really comment as I didn't actually watch it, I just put some good music on and went looking for cars. Even that way it looked like a ridiculous rip off of The Fast and The Furious, though. I'd be better off watching that one again, I think. ![]() |

"Nuked the fridge", is that the European way of saying 'jumped the shark"? |

^ that expression comes from Steven Spielberg ![]() https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jn4Vhkmb4Lw |

similar that cop goes undercover and gets attracted to that lifestyle but other than that nothing in common, this was a comedy here the really good car movies you may enjoy watching - The Gumball Rally (1976) - The Driver (1978) - Dirty Mary Crazy Larry (1974) - Vanishing Point (1971) - Le Mans (1971) no real plot here but the car sequences are fantastic - Death race 2000 (1975) totally surreal tone - Gone in 60 Seconds (1974) indy prodcution , longest car chase put on film -- Last edit: 2024-10-03 22:58:53 |

Well, I did have the sound off, though the teeth scene was an obvious giveaway. That, and the Polizei did look like they descended from the sheriff in Smokey and the Bandit. ![]() As for the movies you mention, I know I've seen The Driver, but have no memories of it (it was in the 80s...) though I intend to see it again whenever. I saw Gone... sometime in this millennium and all I remember is being impressed when H.B. Halicki wrapped his car around a pole, though that turned out to have been an unplanned accident, not a stunt... I haven't seen the others yet, but they're on my list. |

^ The Driver has 2 some of best car chases put on film and Mercedes smash up in the middle ,tonally it's a film noir crime thriller but you see a pattern here, the best car movies ever made are from the 70s ![]() -- Last edit: 2024-10-03 23:52:04 |

A German fast and furious! |
◊ 2024-10-12 20:44 |
Themed after a well-known Dutch computer game A2 Racer and its German equivalent Autobahn Raser. The film later ended up as a game adaptation, interestingly. |

Why is it called A2 Racer? That's nonsense. You can't race on the A2. 15 minutes tops and you end up in a traffic jam. At least they didn't call it A7 Racer.... |
