A sports biopic about George Herman "Babe" Ruth. This movie wants to do for Babe Ruth what The Pride of the Yankees did for Lou Gehrig but just didn't have the budget or actor it needed. Babe Ruth is portrayed as a bumbling simpleton, his first wife Helen Woodford is not mentioned, and Babe's legendary called-shot, along with him hitting a homer for an ill Johnny Sylvester, are both lumped into the same event despite the fact they took place six years apart; the Sylvester home run was during the 1926 World Series and the called shot was during the 1932 World Series. He's portrayed as an incredibly nice guy, ignoring the real Babe Ruth's vices with alcoholism and womanizing instead for Babe Ruth curing a paralyzed kid simply by saying "Hi" to him while jogging by, buying newspaper boys dinner, giving out a $200 tip to a waiter, and bailing out of a game to take a kid's injured dog to a hospital.

"That's what makes it not quite as bad of a film as Wired; at least this movie actually LIKES it's subject!"
-The Cinema Snob

Expanding on the above point, while this movie worships Babe Ruth to the point where you'd swear the movie was trying to sell the world a dictator, it also kneecaps itself in doing so by portraying the man as particularly dim-witted, almost to the point of suggesting a mental deficiency; when Ruth is offered his first contract of $600 a season, he, aged 18 years old at this point, incredulously responds with "There ain't that much money in the world!" and a later scene has him discussing his problems with another man inside a restaurant, a woman pipes up from the next booth and he tells his friend his voice is changing, not even cluing in that a different person was talking to him. Whether William Bendix chose to portray Ruth this way or he was instructed to is unknown, as is Babe Ruth's opinion of the film since he lived long enough to see the film's premiere. He did leave halfway through, so make of that what you will.
Is it any wonder this film is frequently called one of the worst biographies ever made? This film also frequently shows up on lists of the worst sports movies ever, owing to next to no baseball playing being shown. Instead, Babe's records, notable achievements, and time with various baseball teams are shown mainly via newspaper headlines.

Obscured/blurry, plus a stage prop.

I had so much trouble finding a torrent for this. I also had to convert the file from MKV to MP4. Absolutely ridiculous that such a god-awful biopic took so long to find. Whoever owns this movie must not know the difference between s*** and shoe polish. I do apologize for the lengthy comment.

Set from 1906 to 1948.

I thought this was the movie starring John Goodman and Trini Alvarado.
