written, played and directed by Hugo Haas.

This time, the no-good woman is Cleo Moore, but she is not that no-good, while Haas is a no-good man, involving the not-to-become-no-good John Agar in his no-good Gold Fever:

I assume you're focused on the sewing machines  . The Singer Sewing Machine Company was never part of the mighty Rootes group, with a US origin in 1851. But I can still make a connection as their UK factory was in Clydebank beside Glasgow. And the coincidence extends further, as that factory closed in 1980, just before the Rootes factory at Linwood closed.
