This predates it of seven years, maybe the time Comfort took to find or find again himself a style. Because this little Cold War/Thriller/Crime movie only announces, in its style, the TV series Comfort will work on for years in between. Anyway, you want to follow the story until the end, mainly thanks to the actors: Donald Wolfit, Lisa Daniely (the treachorous Polish nurse), Cyril Cusack, Russell Napier (the super-cool superintendant Davidson) and Karel Stepanek (Karel Štěpánek) we fondly remembered as mean Max in the great Allo Berlin? Ici Paris! (Duvivier, 1932). And if male lead Derek Farr is a bit wooden, he finds in Ella Raines (who's playing here for the last time for the big screen, a pity) a warm and comforting presence.
