Nothing on imdb, but 17 minute COI (Central Office of Information) feature of "a typical day in the life of Police Constable Jack Edwards over an eight-hour shift ... as a guardian of law and order in 1950s Britain". The location is never mentioned, but is very clearly Leicester from visual evidence during film. Very dated now for paternalistic commentary, mundane incidents and wooden cliched set-pieces, but ends up being gently amusing.

Also featured in full length on this 2007 compilation DVD "On The Beat - The British Policeman 1900-1984", which in turn was reissued by Atlas Editions a couple of years ago as a free gift for subscribers to their "Best of British Police Cars" partwork mail order series of Vanguards-based 1:43 diecasts.

 Interesting pre-radio communication system. These police call boxes showed up on U.S. cop tv shows such as Adam-12 and T.J. Hooker. After these call boxes tv shows showed them using pay phones.

 Everything upgraded on like-for-like basis from better quality version included on this DVD COI Collection Volume One: Police and Thieves. Seems identical version, but timings did not match - have kept the originally entered Atlas Editions DVD timings, with COI timings usually about 30 seconds later. Or my counter is having a wobbly.

A couple of new pages, plus several new pictures in comments and various registrations now legible. Still a lot of glimpse/background things which could be picked up in a total sweep, but only 3 caught my eye on this revamp. Any special pleading for these (but no better views for any of them)??
