I'm guessing it was a cheap DVD: This movie is actually public domain, so it doesn't cost some wannabe distributor anything to transfer it to DVD and sell it. As such, there are a lot of cheap, half-assed versions of the DVD out there. Same with problem with "Night of the Living Dead." The good news, though, since it is public domain, is that you can download the movie online.
