 It says MCMLIX in the opening credits, but it is indeed curious that there aren't any newer cars in it. Could be a coincidence, however.

 There's nothing unusual about this. The production year may predate the release year by one year. A well-known example is Singin' in the Rain, which is copyrighted as MCMLI (which is when it was filmed) while it was released in 1952 and thus listed as such.
