1961 Canadian horror film that bares the distinction of being the first horror movie to come out of the Great White North! A psychiatrist is given a rare mask by a delusional man who claims that the mask teleports the wearer to a hallucinogenic world full of bizarre and nightmarish visuals that not only proves habit forming but also causes mental instability which increases with each use until the doctor finds himself in the same position as the poor sod who gave the mask to him. This film also had a noteworthy gimmick during it's original theatrical run; it was shown in 3D and audience members were given special 3D glasses which they were to put on whenever the film says "Put the Mask on, now!" A Mercury/Monarch Turnpike Cruiser, not enough is visible to make a distinction. Car action: Chase/ quickly-following scene between the 1960 Ford taxi and the 1961 Meteor convertible. Upgraded to HD, film complete! |

"A Mercury/Monarch Turnpike Cruiser, not enough is visible to make a distinction." Not a Turnpike Cruiser, but it is a 1960 Monarch by the trim. Probably a Lucerne; looks like Richelieu and Sceptre had more trim on the rear. |
