Notes from SteveA:- "The Mindbenders (1962, Dirk Bogarde). I was fascinated by the way British Rail loco 6015 King Richard III morphed into 5056 Earl of Powis under emergency braking. The two Oxford buses (hence my interest) are H909 (PWL420), a 1951 AEC Regent III/Weymann, and 968 (968CWL), a 1958 AEC Regent V/Weymann similar to that seen from above in another Bogarde movie 'Accident', which I watched last night for the first time in years. The third decker in the sequence could be a Regent III or a V with exposed radiator. In 1962 the Oxford fleet was entirely AEC, except for four Dennis Lolines (with AEC engines)" -- Last edit: 2008-01-02 05:49:36 |

Directed by Basil Dearden, music: Georges Auric. Cast: Dirk Bogarde (Longman), Mary Ure (Oonagh), and John Clements (Major Hall), Michael Bryant (Tate), Wendy Craig (Annabella)... Stars given, one car added, time-tagged (for which I used the 99 min. US version, not the 109 min. UK one). |
