In 1955-6 Ford promoted their latest "dream car", the Futura, 10 years later, the very same car, customised into the Batmobile would roar into living rooms everywhere...along with all the rest of that year's "Batmania" ( I remember it well, including my Batman holloween costume)the original car is still in George Barris' collection, though he has sold a few replicas over the years. (Fords of that time would never get Futura styling as it became the basis for the '56 Lincoln design, instead) |

A green early sixties Humber Super Snipe shows up as set dressing in several episodes. |

www.starcarcentral.com and www.1966batmobile.com for more info on the Futura batmobile. The Futura also was featured in "It started with a KISS" with Glen Ford. A replica of it was on an episode of "VIPER" -- Last edit: 2010-06-03 19:01:18 |

There are still more cars to find. |

The series hasn't been released on DVD yet, that's why you don't see all the Dodge A-100's and Plymouth Belvedere Gotham City squad cars on the site yet. -- Last edit: 2012-09-12 21:13:04 (G-MANN) |

Just caught the episode where Bruce Wayne gives Dick Grayson a Plymouth Barracuda Convertible when Dick gets his driver's license. |

I believe in one episode, this was Commissioner Gordon's car. |

Hmm. The later cars look like Jaguar E-Types. -- Last edit: 2012-11-30 02:24:37 |

Adam West says he hated driving the Batmobile because, being a concept car, the interior was more confined, so he banged his knees and shoulders getting in and out, and the steering, suspension and transmission were very clunky and unrefined. |

Well, in case some of you haven't noticed, I managed to add some cars using high quality downloads of the first four episodes, if anyone wants to help me out on some cars, you are welcome. |

The original was built on a Continental Mark II chassis; hardly a concept in terms of the drivetrain or suspension. -Kurt |

I have just added it. |

Series pretty much complete. There may be a few more cars and some more images of higher quality for replacements. |
◊ 2014-03-13 08:38 |
The series will be coming out on DVD this year (at last! ![]() ![]() -- Last edit: 2014-03-13 08:38:29 |

And since it is coming out on DVD (and perhaps even Blu-Ray), it looks like we'll have to replace all the images for the sake of quality. |

Okay, now that this show has now FINALLY been released on DVD and Blu-Ray, who wants to start replacing the images with those of higher quality scale?? Me, perhaps? Update: I'll replace and add the images of the cars from episodes 1 to 16 (season 1 that is). I'll do more when I get the DVD for real. -- Last edit: 2014-11-21 02:23:43 |

The blueray collection pack comes with an HD version. I wonder if the quality would be better than DVD or blueray. If you don't want to do the whole 3 seasons I could start on Season 3 and work backwards toward Season 2. |
◊ 2014-11-26 05:01 |
I would gladly appreciate it, just be sure to add some extra cars that I missed, okay? |

This is the best Batman TV Show ever made. The animated ones don't come close to being good when compared to this. Even the movies after the 1966 movie can't compete. |
