![]() I had already seen that film one time or twice, many years ago. It' not bad at all, very good acting, though 3 main things annoying:... the english language for a story on german airplane forces and pilots during WWII (of course the production, is english, actors too ... ) , location in Ireland instead of french Somme departement were action should take place... (the villages doesn't look a all real as french villages) ... anachronism in some airplanes dispatched in the air, and in the cars and lorries , with too many horrible "made for movie" vehicles... Never mind , Ursula Andress is still very sexy ... ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() -- Last edit: 2007-10-15 21:10:33 |

I won't forget one of the interests of this film...the airplanes. ![]() All of them at: http://www.impdb.org/index.php?title=The_Blue_Max -- Last edit: 2010-12-15 14:05:36 |

The silver monoplane used at the end of the film is a Morane-Saulnier M.S.230, a French basic trainer that first flew in 1929.. so just a 'bit' advanced for WW1... ![]() -- Last edit: 2007-10-16 08:30:33 |

The British recco airplane shot down by Bruno Stachel at the beginning of th movie is in fact a French built Caudron Luciole_an aerobatic aircraft of the 30'! It is also the same plane which plays the cast of the German recco aircraft that Stachel and his wingmen were supposed to escort before the famous dogfight with British SE5! The British SE5s of this movie were in fact British Currie Wot of the 30' lightly modified to play the cast of the famous British fighter! The Fokker D-VIIs were built for the production by Rousseau Aviation Company of Dinard (Ille et Vilaine, France). They were rather convencing except the engines which were more modern...and reliable! It must be noticed the authentic Pfalz D-III flying by Bruno Stachel in the first part of the movie: 42 years later it still exists! |

I'd still like to see an Internet Movie Aircraft Database. But an Internet Movie Vehicles Database (ships, aircraft, trains, cars and any other kind of vehicle including horse carts (!)) doesn't seem like such a good idea to me ![]() -- Last edit: 2008-06-26 01:19:56 |

I agree with you. I think it would be necessary do separate between all these different means of transportation versus Cinema, though I'd like to have IMADB, IMSDB, IMTDB... presented as same as IMCDB , in order to keep a family link between all of these independant purposes |
