I saw this movie and found a couple of modern vehicle shown in background. Seems that the producer may have limited budget on these older vehicles that they attempt to find and use in this production and usually they don't have much control over on the background vehicles. |

Isn't this made in 67? Modern cars? |

For example, I thought I saw 1966 or 1967 Oldsmobile at the background in one scene. -- Last edit: 2008-02-23 19:59:11 |

Well, the movie was released in 67. It started out in 1959 with the killings and ends in I believe 1965 when the killers were excecuted. So, maybe they accidently had a couple cars beyond 65 in a scene or two, and didn't realize it. By the way, Perry Smith and Dick Hickock were the last two people to be excecuted by the hanging method in the state of Kansas. Unbelievable movie based on Truman Capote's novel of the Clutter family murders in Holcomb, Kansas in 1959! It happened 50 years ago this past Sunday--11/15/59. It's been years since I've seen the movie. I'll have to get a DVD and see if I can see a car or two out of place. |

The weird-looking truck in the beginning that Dick flips the bird to is an International Harvester Sightliner. -- Last edit: 2012-02-14 03:38:28 |
