Wow!, I think this is a wonderful film because Ralph Baker Jr, Frank Jolley, and Bill Holley are all Dallas Fort Worth broadcasters! Ralph Baker Jr co-hosted Sump'n Else and The Group And Chapman on WFAA-TV and hosted programs on KLIF-AM. Frank Jolley was a host on KBOX-AM/KLIF-AM and appeared as a guest on Sump'n Else as well. Bill Holley was on KBOX-AM. This appears to be filmed with many scenes around White Rock Lake, one on Flagpole Hill and areas around Northwest Hwy back when it was still largely a rural area. It sure captures the feel of 1960's Dallas. White Rock Lake still gets rather dark and quiet even in today's modern world. Baker, Jolley, and Holley all are legendary here in Dallas Fort-Worth and this film shows their great talent. Even though they might not be as well known on the national level, all three were teen idol's in the DFW broadcast market and this film sure captured the local audience's attention. It is a collector item for a person who loves this market's wonderful productions. |
