Upgraded to HD which, alas, is matted widescreen crap losing considerable portion of the image on top and bottom (whatever happened to more picture in widescreen?), so I left some of the pics as they were. Meanwhile, here's Mr. Tuttle analyzing a toy version of a Mercedes stretched limo: ![]() |

^ Yes, I know. I'm well aware of the practice and I find it detestable given that back in the day they advertised widescreen as having more picture than TV. I wouldn't mind so much if all that was matted was what Kevin Smith calls "dead space" (and position markers for the actors...), but this is definitely not the case here (see the Daimler truck). It's no better than 4:3 pan&scan monstrosities. |
