When someone opens a film or series, they have the floor to carry on and complete it themselves. If someone else wants to come in and add entries - whether new episodes or backfilling, they should ask if it's OK before submitting anything. If the first contributor agrees that's fine, but if not the newcomer should hang back and wait until everything's finished. Sometimes the first contributor abandons a series part done - if that happens, others can come in, but there usually has to be a gap of weeks or months to show this has happened. Whatever the various permutations - which can also include finding a better quality copy - the answer is almost always to ask if it's OK to join in. Then everybody's happy. |

The problem in this situation is that both of you added things at the same time. Before submissions are validated, only admins can view them, so for each of you, you will not see the other's postings. So when a validator open the page, all they see is there are submissions from two different posters. They can then approve one by one, or go through everything and approve all at once. You can guess which way is more efficient. And if we have a long list of movies to validate, they are most likely going to approve all. We could delete the second poster's entries, but that seems like a waste. I'm guessing that because Iggle's entries were from later seasons, and not the one that SM99 was currently working on, approving them would not be an issue. So the best advice is what dsl says, ask first. SM99 had recently added the first few episodes, and should have been given some consideration before another poster adds more. |
