I remember when this movie came out. At the time I had been riding bikes myself for only a few years. I haven't seen the movie since then - I must try and find a copy. It was a hugely influential movie in that it generated a lot of interest in motorcycling. I don't know how well it did in the box office. I visited the US a few years later and made a point of going to some of the locations seen in the movie. This fillum generated a huge amount of interest in dirt biking, causing thousands of Aussies to spend big bucks on sprockets and chains, aftermarket exhausts, levers and any other unnecessary accessories that were required to enjoy oneself before the internet came along. It was a big industry for a while based on the influence of a documentary. |
