Youth crime drama set in incredibly scruffy and grim looking 1970's East End London. Free to watch on BFI AND UTube https://player.bfi.org.uk/free/film/watch-tundes-film-1973-online One thing that strikes me about 70s and earlier film is how very thin most people are ! -- Last edit: 2020-04-22 15:29:36 |

Is the thinness a function of the 1970s, or a reflection of the youthfulness of the cast? There were some actors at that time who were less than svelte. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Fred_Emney -- Last edit: 2020-04-22 18:09:40 |

Little known fact that young Gordon Brown and Boris Johnson were joint partners in a Linen shop in the East End. Running an old Ford on sales. Partnership was dissolved due to irreconciable differences in the future way ahead -- Last edit: 2020-04-22 21:01:48 |

I was much thinner in the 1970s as well. Then I discovered beer, women, prog-rock, Pot Noodles and denim jackets. |

I have a group photo of my year intake of apprentices in 1979, 100 odd racing snakes. No McDonalds/Dominos/kebabs & coke was a treat not a staple. |

Turquoise 4 button high waist trousers with big flares, white shirt with 747 wing size collar and clowns printed on , orange and brown horizontal striped tank top ( one seen in this film !) patent plastic 4in heel platform shoes with red toecaps . Long unstyled thick hair . Normal garb for my day at 6th form college in 1975 and everyone else similar ! -- Last edit: 2020-04-22 22:19:32 |

Good grief! We still had to conform to uniform. Striped shirts were banned, as were duffel coats. I used to wear blue shirts with white collars, using plastic collars which were wipe clean. As my cohort joined the 6th form, the rules were relaxed so we didn’t have to wear caps. |
