1973 made-for-TV thriller about a runaway rain packed with skiers. Before Runaway Train and Unstoppable, there was Runaway! A train is left with no brakes due to frozen temperatures at a ski resort train station, a fact not discovered until the train has departed! The only hope of preventing a catastrophic derailment is to have another locomotive couple to the back of the runaway train and use it's brakes to hopefully bring the runaway train to a safe stop!

3-star locomotive (blue should be red, colours went wonky during screencapping)

Sounds like a Top Gear jolly jape, except they'd drop a couple of Marinas onto it as well to make sure. Then randomly blow up a motorhome.

Sierra Pacific 3011 (DRGW 3011), 1962 EMD GP30. Built for the DRGW, joined the UP roster when the DRGW merged with the UP in 1992, but only lasted 2 years under UP ownership before being retired in 1994.

Now preserved at the Colorado Railroad Museum in Golden CO. Restoration was finished a few years back and it looks fantastic :)

Trailing behind 3011 (not pictured above) is Sierra Pacific 3032 (DRGW 3032), 1964 EMD GP35, also built for the DRGW

Sierra Pacific 3081 (DRGW 3081), youngest of the 3, 1969 EMD GP40, another one built for the DRGW

Went to the Union Pacific when the railroads merged in 1992, but unlike 3011 had a much longer career with them, lasting unto the 2000's before being sold to HLCX

Also here's what 3081 colors should've been in GodzillaFan54 screenshot ;)
